RAT Test Equipment

For the Airbus fleet special equipment is required to test the Ram Air Turbine. Hycom developed tools to perform the tests as mentioned in AMM 29-24-00. The test procedure includes spin-up and governing-pump and anti stall device test of the RAT.

Advantages

Short test procedure

  • Connect model HRT-01 mechanically with bolts to the RAT.
  • Connect hoses of the HRT-01 at a hydraulic test stand e.g. Hycom model HT2000. (Flow 150 ltrs/min at 3000 psi in open loop mode).
  • Connect hoses and electric cable of the HFK-02 to the service panel of the aircraft system.
  • Follow the procedure as mentioned in AMM29-24-00. The pressure and rpm of the RAT will be checked at a flow setting of 0, 30 and 60 ltrs/min on the HFK.

With the take-over of the former Vickers test stand business, Hycom is capable of supplying rotating and non-rotating component test benches.
